Ring in The New Year NOLA-style!

Whether you're in town for the Sugar Bowl, or just looking for something to do this New Year's Eve, New Orleans has just the party to suite your style! There are certain New Orleans New Year’s Eve traditions that shouldn’t be missed: the annual fleur-de-lis drop, the fireworks show over the Mississippi River and the live entertainment in Jackson Square. Here are our top ways to bring in 2017 in New Orleans.

Crescent City Countdown

Consistently ranked one of the best fireworks displays in the nation, the Crescent City Countdown is a must. With live music beforehand, the official countdown to midnight begins at 11:45 p.m. When the clock strikes midnight, an 8-foot LED fleur de lis will drop from the top of Jax Brewery Condominiums, kicking off a spectacular 15-minute fireworks symphony over the Mississippi River. This incredible view is open to the public. You can get a great view of the fireworks along the Mississippi River at Washington Artillery Park.

Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year's Eve Parade

Wether you're a Sooner, Tiger, or just here for the holiday weekend, be sure to check our the Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year's Ever Parade, a Mardi Gras-style parade with floats, bands and other participants. The parade begins at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street at 3:30 p.m. CT. It will proceed up Decatur Street, past Jackson Square and the Allstate Fan Fest, and wrap up at Canal Street.

Jackson Square New Year's Eve Celebration

For a great view of the annual fleur-de-lis drop, head to Jackson Square where you can experience live music and enjoy the fireworks spectacular at midnight. It is FREE and open to the public.

Westin Canal Place

Ring in 2017 with live music, incredible cuisine and panoramic views of the riverfront fireworks at The Westin New Orleans Canal Place. Enjoy a premium open bar, dance the night away with The Mixed Nuts, and cheers to the year ahead with a champagne toast at midnight. The party starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are priced at $190.
