New Orleans Fried Chicken Fest: Free Food, Music and Fun

Po' Boys, Oysters, Beignets, Creole Tomatoes - New Orleans seemingly has a festival for everything! We celebrate food and drink big here in the Crescent City and it's almost shocking that a festival dedicated to fried chicken wasn't inaugurated until 2016.

Fried Chicken Fest

Back again this year, with a bigger and better venue, the Fried Chicken Festival sponsored by Raising Cane's is a free outdoor festival that brings food, music, and festivities together in celebration of the classic Southern dish!

Location: Woldenberg Park along the Mississippi River

Quickly outgrowing its previous location at Lafayette Square, the Fried Chicken Fest is heading to Woldenberg Park located along the banks of the Mississippi River. 

Fried Chicken Fest Details

The festival features events including the Fried Chicken Tenders Eating Contest and the Best Fried Chicken Contest,  judged by local and national food writers, bloggers and critics.

The 2018 festival featured 35 national vendors, along with celebrity chefs and the Moet Chicken and Champagne VIP Lounge. 2018’s vendors included: Bayou Hot Wings, Dunbar's, Fiorella's Cafe, Willie Mae's Scotch House and more. For more updates on food vendors, stay tuned to Fried Chicken Festival’s official website here.

A variety of locally and nationally renowned musicians entertained festival goers throughout the day on two stages. Performers included Mannie Fresh, Amanda Shaw, and more! To see the full line up, click here

More Food Than Just Fried Chicken

Other experiences at the festival include a Sucré Sweet Spot Lounge to indulge in your sweet tooth, an AT&T and Best Buy Football Fan Zone to watch NFL Football and GoNOLA’s Mist and Chill Lounge.

Parking near Woldenberk Park is available in nearby garages or very limited metered street parking. It’s also easily accessible from both the Canal Street and Riverfront streetcar lines, as well as by pedicab, taxi or rideshare.
